Artinis Medical Systems elevates Marianne Floor-Westerdijk as the new co-CEO
Elst, The Netherlands (July 1, 2024) — Artinis Medical Systems B.V., the pioneer innovator in wearable near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technology, announces a new chapter in its leadership with the appointment of Marianne Floor-Westerdijk, MSc. as co-CEO alongside Dr. Willy Colier. This transition coincides with the well-deserved retirement of Roeland van der Burght, Msc., who steps down from his role as CEO but remains part-time connected to Artinis as COO.
Marianne Floor-Westerdijk brings significant experience to her role as co-CEO at Artinis Medical Systems. She started her career in 2008 in product development and has been a project lead since 2012. Marianne successfully developed products like Brite and OctaMon and significantly contributed to the development of CDMAM and CDRAD, which are essential for quality control in radiology.
After the successful commercialization of these products, Marianne was promoted to Manager of R&D and Quality Manager. In this position, she led the implementation and certification process of the Artinis quality management system for ISO 13485, continuously improving the quality and reliability of Artinis products. She also submitted and supervised several successful international and national product development projects. In her most recent role as CTO, Marianne led technological advancements and successfully launched MediBrite, the only MDR-certified fNIRS product on the market.
As CEO, Marianne will ensure that simplifying optical imaging remains a top priority for Artinis. She will continue to champion the development of user-friendly yet high-quality NIRS devices to ensure customer satisfaction. Her expertise will be instrumental in driving Artinis' continued growth and innovation in the (f)NIRS market.
Dr. Willy Colier, a recognized expert in fNIRS technology, will continue to lead the company's scientific direction while co-steering Artinis' strategic vision alongside Marianne Floor-Westerdijk.
