Introduction to (functional) Near Infrared Spectroscopy

As the use of (functional) Near Infrared Spectroscopy ((f)NIRS) continues to grow each year, we are excited to offer our expertise to ensure that everyone can use this equipment to its full potential. In light of this, we offer introduction courses to learn more about the theory and practice of (f)NIRS which is accessible for everyone, including students, postgraduates, researchers, new users, and other professionals.

All (f)NIRS enthusiasts are welcome!

LOCATION & SCHEDULE

This introduction course will be held on Monday, 10th of February 2025 at the University of the Arts London (UAL) in London, UK. This is a one-day course that will take place from 9:30 AM to approximately 4:00 PM.

PROGRAM

The (f)NIRS introduction course will be divided into two different parts:

  • Theoretical background — learn more about:

    • The theory and technology behind (f)NIRS

    • (f)NIRS applications in the fields of neuroscience, psychology, sports science and more

    • Applicable experimental setup and analysis methods

  • Practical hands-on session: put the acquired theoretical knowledge into practice and perform different (f)NIRS experiments from set-up to simple data analysis.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
  • Tickets for the course cost 60 GBP (excluding lunch). The ticket can be paid on-site in cash before the start of the course.

  • This (f)NIRS introduction course has limited spots for 25 participants. Therefore, we operate on a ‘first come, first served’ policy.

  • Please let us know when you registered but are not able to make it to the course anymore, so we can allow another participant to join.
